Thankful Harvest luggage tag

Happy Harvest!  I saw something on Facebook the other day that said..."My favorite color is Fall".  So true...I'm loving all the Fall colors even here in Northern Arizona we are Blessed with Fall colors. Stunning!

My project today is with the Linnie Blooms Luggage Tag.  I have a friend who is in a group called Pocket Letter Pals and I was trying to come up with something small enough to fit into one of the pockets. I seem to do everything on a LARGE scale that this was a challenge for me.  I think it came out kinda cute. :)  Enjoy!

The first thing I did was "paint" the luggage tag with 3 different Fall colors of ink and blended them with a blending tool.  Then I used some fall color scrapbook paper and made the rosettes.  I used the Tim Holtz Small talk words in the centers.
Then I used some trim...a leaf and a button for the top and added some Copper Stickles to the center of the button and around the words.

Fast and fun project for the Pocket Letter Pal groups....you could make a whole bunch of these in all different styles.  They would be pretty with Christmas colors and use them for tags for your special gifts. Just write the To and From on the back. :) My mom and sisters would love these....

Check out the Linnie Blooms website for your canvas Luggage Tags and the Linnie Blooms Facebook page for a ton of great ideas with her products.

It is almost Halloween but it is not too late to make this cute card.
Directions:
1.
Use a sponge applicator to apply ink to a large canvas star. (Mustard Seed Distress Ink) Apply ink from the edges working in towards the center of star so that the color is darker along the edges. Set aside to dry or dry with a heat gun. Use permanent black ink to stamp a cobweb design over the canvas star.

2. Cut a banner shaped flag from a piece of burlap fabric. (2.5x4.5") Cut two banner shaped flags from pattern paper. (1.75x5.5" and 3x6.5") Cluster the banner flags overlapping them slightly and attach them to the card using double sided tape.

3.
Next, stamp a spider on a piece of transparency using permanent black ink. After the image has dried, carefully cut around it and add attach two black gems for the body and head. Glue the gem spider to the canvas star and attach it to the top left side of the card.

4.
Finally, embellish the card with a sentiment, glittered chipboard number, and faux stitching details. Draw stitches with a fine tip black pen around the edge of the flag on the left, as well as, along the top and bottom edge of the sentiment.

Boo-Tiful Treat Bag for Halloween

Hello, and Happy Halloween in advance!  It's Ann, here today from the Linnie Blooms Design Team and I have this sweet treat bag how-to, to share with you.  I love Halloween as it lets me be a kid and have an excuse to eat those little chocolate bars, hee hee hee.  Here is my project:

To make one like this all you need is to get a small brown paper gift bag,  some Linnie Blooms Canvas die cuts and, some imagination!

To begin, colour the three circles orange with any medium.  Let the circles dry, and then square off each circle to get a pumpkin shape.  You can also draw lines on the pumpkins to make them look more real.

Colour a Linnie Blooms canvas Die Cut Owl black.  Trim the owl's horns to look more like cat ears.  Then trim off the sides of the owl to give it more of a cat shape.  I used a bit that was cut off for it's tail.

Trim the Green trim to make the stems.  Now, glue down all the pieces.   Don't forget to add some eyes to our scared kitty!

The Boo sentiments are made by using a label maker and tape, and a piece of skinny black ribbon is used to tie a bow to one of the bag's handles.

To make the cat looked spooked you can draw some lines with a black pen to make his fur stand up.
The bottom section is decorated with some strips of wash tape.

I hope that you enjoy making some of your very own Treats this Halloween.  Have fun and be safe.

Journal page

Hey friends,
Recovering from my surgery , slowly settling with normal schedule of life and crafting.
Recently I made cards using water color on water color paper and wanted to try the same technique on linnieblooms.mini journal*
I love the way colors spread on the canvas, unpredictable and producing different colors while spreading.

Process
Started with sprinkling some water color with a brush an spreading it with mister.
added some texture by applying modelling  paste with check stencil.

added some colored thread , did some stamping and handmade flower.

stamped a butterfly , dream word all over the page.

added buttons and chipboard and then we are done.

Its a  fun process to see the how colors mix and produce patterns.
I am sure you will have fun too.enjoy.

Altered Wooden Clothes Pins

I saw these cute little canvas leaves and was inspired to make some autumnal themed clothes pins. These autumnal clothes pins can be used for various decorative purposes. They can be clipped on lampshades / drapes for a fun home decor accent or used as a table decoration as a place setting name card holder for your guests. If a magnet is attached to the back, they can be decorative and functional.

Here's a step by step of how I did it.

Directions:
1. Prepare to Paint:
Protect your work surface & wear gloves. Place the canvas leaves on your craft matte or newspaper. Mist the leaves with 3-4 autumnal colors. With your finger, blend the colors together so they absorb into the weave of the fabric. I worked with all paint colors simultaneously. Remember to color the back side of each leaf as well. Set aside to dry.

2. Color Clothes Pins: Attach washi tape to both sides of each wooden clothes pin. Carefully trim away excess tape with scissors and firmly press all edges securely.
 3. Assemble Bows: Cut a strip of fabric about 1.25in x 4inches in length. Find the center of the fabric strip. Pinch and twist one side of the fabric to the back and use a piece of wire to cinch the center of the bow twisting the wire to secure it. Trim the ends of the fabric if needed. Tie a small bow using jute or baker's twine.

4. Detail the Leaves: When the leaves are thoroughly dry, take each leaf and fold it in half to the stem pressing firmly with your fingers. The stiffened canvas will hold the gentle crease and the fold will appear to be the vein of the leaf giving it a more realistic appearance.

5. Embellish Clothes Pins: Use a hot glue gun to attach the fabric bow to the end of the wooden clothes pin. Next, glue a leaf in the center of the fabric bow. Finally, glue a twine bow on the leaf and embellish it with a button.

TIP: Since I have accumulated many sprays and mists, I make a sample card for each color by spraying a mini tag and attaching it to a jump ring. Then, I can refer to the tags to help me quickly select the right colors for my project. To help me find the bottle on the shelf, I write the brand & color on the back of the tag.
